Tunstall

5am Pickup, with seven other sea fishing fanatics, then off up the motorway heading for Tunstall, on the Holderness beaches. All the crack about the piscatorial specimens we were going to catch.

Heading into Hull, we had already ordered our bait, from A & D Tackle, where Mark gives an excellent service. Apart from topping up with bits and bobs, Mark will give you the latest reports. Around the corner to the Bacon Banjo Café, where for just under £3, you get a full breakfast, 2 rounds of toast and a mug of tea or coffee.

Grumbling stomachs filled up it was then on to the East Yorkshire Coast.

Arriving at Tunstall the Weather was warm, a little breeze with the sea lapping the shore. Fishing started 8.30am.
Fishing was slow, but it is this time of the year, Rockling, Whiting and Doggies was the call of the day. We all hoped the Thornback would show, but it was not to be.

As usual passing strangers stopping for the latest reports and the odd locals giving their advice on how to catch. Again we should have been there last week, yesterday or maybe tomorrow. On the day we all enjoyed each other’s company and will do in the future, when those big ones will be back. Clearing up as the fishing stopped at 5pm we were all ready for that 2½ Hr trip back home.
